 I am entering my final year studying Equine Performance and Rehabilitation at Hartpury University. I have gained valuable experience at the Hartpury Equine Therapy Centre and the Equine Functional Motion Centre (EFMC) in the Netherlands, where I studied under Veronique Swagemakers, DVM. 

In my spare time, I enjoy eventing with my Irish Sport Horse, Bougal.

Neuromuscular Electro-Stimulation (NMES) technology provides electrical stimulation directly to the muscles, causing them to fully contract and relax, mimicking physical activity. This deep muscle treatment reaches fibres more effectively, making it one of the most advanced muscle training technologies available for horses.

This technology is perfect for whole-body, deep-muscle training, offering a safer and more effective method than traditional approaches. Significant improvement can be seen with just two 30-minute sessions per week. 

Everyone wants a well-muscled horse, but that doesn't happen by itself. Equery supports the natural muscle mass through its "strength" program. This can be done both to increase the muscle mass of a healthy horse, but also after injury, to maintain the muscle mass. This both in the rest period and in the rehabilitation period to improve the muscles as quickly as possible. The NMES technology offers the possibility to apply this stationary. 

In the case of asymmetry in the muscles, this imbalance can also be quickly corrected by sending the right impulses to these muscles. Recent research has shown that asymmetry is significantly reduced after just a few sessions.

EQUERY aids in rehabilitation post-injury or surgery by preventing muscle atrophy and promoting muscle development early in the recovery stage. In 60 minutes, the horse receives a full NMES body training that is 18 times more efficient than classic training.

During an Equery session, more than 90% of the muscle fibers are stimulated simultaneously. During a regular workout, this is only 30%. In addition, the deep-lying and most neglected muscles are also trained. This gives the metabolism a huge boost.

Equery also helps with a weak back or kissing spines. The back is lifted and strengthened by the powerful impulses.
 

In the horse, the pelvis forms the transition from the hind leg to the spine. Pelvic problems are therefore a major cause of reduced performance in horses and can even cause lameness. With Equery, we can directly strengthen the muscles around the pelvis. 

EQUERY R6 suits have 6 electrode pairs treating important muscle groups, such as Brachialis, Trapezius, Deltoideus, Gluteus maximus, Latissimus dorsi, Tensor fasciae latae and Biceps femoris. In addition, the suit has an infrared heating panel that enables heat therapies with variable wavelength and intensity for maximum efficiency.
